Pattaya, the city of night, comes alive at the dark. A quiet fishing village until the 1960s, is now known for it’s wild nightlife scenes. The first time I visited Pattaya, I was charmed by it’s laid back culture and it’s friendly people. The second time I was there I was addicted to it’s nightlife and the beaches. I do hope to visit it for a third time too. But here is a comprehensive list of To-do’s in Pattaya.
Indulge in Water Sports and visit Coral Island
During the day you can keep yourself busy with water sports like parasailing, Jet-skiing, deep sea walks, scuba diving and Island explorations are super fun in and around the Coral Island.
Shopping in Pattaya
You can shop at some of Pattaya’s Mall, my favourite is the Central Festival Pattaya on Beach Road which houses some of the International brands. My next favourite is the Floating market where you get to shop for local delicacies and get to experience local food as well. Other options to shop would be Thepprasit Road Night Market, Mike Shopping Mall, Royal Garden Plaza.
Visit the Ripley’s Believe Or Not
With over 300 exhibits and which shed light on true stories and facts supported by shocking displays. A few fun rides alongside, with a waxworks museum (which I didn’t like as much), a 12D Moving theater and most popular sky rider that offers you a unique view of the Pattaya Bay makes it all fun.
Nong Noch Village
Newly married and you need to getaway to a place with scenic views with some peace and quiet? Then the Nong Noch Village is your scene. Every sight of this botanical garden is worth taking in.
Watch the Tiffany Cabaret Show
One of my favourite things to do indeed, a show by the beautiful performers whose costumes are elaborate. An hour long colour, sound and light riot paired with exuberant stage decor will leave you speechless. The performances range from Bollywood dance scenes to a tribute to China’s Imperial past, Thai dance, a fun burlesque, Broadway show tunes and Korean fan dance.
Evening at the Pattaya View Point
For a panoramic shot of Pattaya’s beautiful crescent bay, head to the Pratumnak Hill where the Khao Pattaya View Point, gives the best viewpoint in the region and the place to visit day or night.
Catch a Muay Thai Kick Boxing Match
Live on edge a little, catch on of those Muay Thai boxing matches at the Max Muay Thai Stadium. I suggest you catch one of those Underground Muay Thai matches which is by invite only and these are more fun and dangerous than the official ones.
Visit the Infamous Walking Street at Night
Witness the bustling night life at the Pattaya Walking Street, where you will see all the party hoppers in action post 9PM. The city’s beautiful landscape transforms to that of a Sin city at night in this street. You will find Go-Go bars, pubs and waterholes to feed every temptation of yours.
