Ever heard of Warli Art? You know, the art by the Warli tribes who can be mostly found in Maharashtra. They had this interesting way of telling their family stories on the walls of their homes. You can identify the art with the stick figures in geometrical formations, in a festive mood or just daily life scenes in a village. What I love about this art is the geometric patterns in it.
Styling Note: I’m fond of art in any form, it’s even better when fashion meets art. The outfit featured here is a mix of Neon trend and Art. The Neon Green Saree draped in an unconventional way (Gujrati + Maharashtrian Nauvari drape style) with a belt and the saree blouse with those pretty Warli Art print make it casual and wearable. The look is a harmonious balance between colour and prints. The pumps in white add that extra elegance to the look and gives it a modern feel too. A statement necklace with details in red and green gives it that pop of colour too. The hair is given puff in the front and left twisted and messy like how mermaids do.

This was a fun project very dear to my heart; the objective behind which was to explore the concept of fusing both Indian and modern elements; therefore making saree a more appropriate casual wear and not just for festivities. I’m a huge fan of Contemporary Styling, I always keep saying don’t I? I’ll continue to do such fun projects time and again. What I’d appreciate more is to hear your feedback on this post.
