If I were a Painting

If I were a painting
Captured on a canvas
Alone in the portrait I would stand
And brush strokes bold
Yet soft as a whisper
The work of a feminine hand

Caught in a still life
Surrounded by shadows
OR lost in a background of blue

If I were a painting
My price would be pain
And the artist would have to be you

I imagine the colors
Would all run together
If you ever allowed me to cry
So don’t paint the tears
Just let me remember me
Without you in my LIFE

It’s only the frame
That holds me together
Or else I would be falling apart

If I were a painting
I wouldn’t FEAR
And you wouldn’t be breaking my heart

Outfit Details: Black Dress with leather details on the waist – ASOS | Cape with Oil Paint impressions and silk placket – Custom Made | Necklace, Bracelet and rings – Flea markets in Goa and Bangalore | Tortoise shell Cat-eye Sunglasses – Vans | Black studded Canvas Shoes – Ginger (Westside)

I was all geared to welcome the Spring in colours, little did I know that Bangalore will skip a whole season and just decide to jump into summer. Nevertheless, I thought I’d share the look with you. It’s Spring, the time for blooms and everybody out there is seen in pastel hued bloom prints, but I’m celebrating Spring with colourful paint brush strokes and blooms alongside as the backdrop. The Artist in me couldn’t be any happier!!

Styling Note: The cape is indeed colourful and eclectic, therefore paired with the Black Dress leather panels on the waist would make it stand out. The accessories paired again give a gypsy vibe to the whole look, the colours of each of it are different but are still present in the cape, hence complement the outfit – the blue brass bracelet with designs, the plain silver bracelet, the pink uncut stone ring in silver and the lavender pendant necklace all come together without a doubt. Make sure you pick accessories in the same palette as the colours in the cape, or stick to just silver or brass to keep it all co-ordinated. Hope you liked my look inspired by the Spring season but with a twist of my own. Do leave me your comments here and don’t forget to reach us on Facebook Twitter | Instagram | Bloglovin | Pinterest
