DIY: Cocktail Saree
It is “The Wedding Season “in India …as Deepika Padukone charmingly indicates in a Television Ad.
And out come the sarees with their pretty blouses .This time around I want something spunky and bright. As usual my fabric collection beckoned me and this pretty black and white chevron dupatta caught my eye.
After a couple of web searches I finally settled on these sarees as the inspiration .
All I have done is measure out the saree and accordingly cut the dupatta into strips of fabric. I have used a slightly broader strip for the lower half of the saree. You just need to attach the borders on the saree using a sewing machine.
I also starched and steam –pressed the saree once it was all sewn.
There you have it! Drape and flaunt with style 🙂
