I have been asking the same question since CC creams were introduced – CC or BB? A CC cream is a color correcting cream, that it is a brightening primer, foundation, moisturizer, SPF and anti-aging cream packed into one. Suitable for skin types that need more finished / even look, that reduce the appearance of irregularities in the skin tone. They do offer more coverage, than a BB (beauty brightening) and are oil free too, therefore perfect for Oily skin or combination skin.
BB creams are usually light coverage, that offer an even coverage and are loaded with hydrators to give you a dewy / luminous look. Therefore, are perfect for dry to normal skin and not so recommended for an oily or acne prone skin. I tried this SeaSoul HD Finish CC Cream, which came in a light shade and that offered me medium coverage, of acne spots on my skin. It sure was better than a BB cream’s coverage.
What I like about SeaSoul HD Finish CC Cream?
- It has a herbal fragrance which is mild and vanishes after a few minutes
- It’s soft creamy texture helps spread easily on the skin.
- Medium coverage and hides minor imperfections like light blemishes & acne spots. It won’t help if you have age spots or hyper-pigmented skin.
- Doesn’t look cakey even after application of 2 layers, it doesn’t clog your pores as well.
- SeaSoul CC cream has a semi-matte finish and stays on my face for a good 5-6 hours.
- Comes with SPF20 protection
- It is enriched with Dead Sea Minerals and Moroccan Argan oil.
- It is free from Parabens, Sulphates, Phosphates & Formaldehyde, Petrochemicals & Phthalates.
What I don’t like is:
- Limited Availability
- Pricey – at INR 625 for a 30ml tube
Bottom Line:
Overall SeaSoul HD Finish CC cream is a decent product that gives sheer coverage and is ideal for daily wear. It doesn’t feel heavy on the skin and is enriched with Dead Sea Minerals. Comes with SPF 20 & is free from harmful chemicals. I recommend this CC cream if you are looking for some chemical free product and wouldn’t mind shelling out a few extra bucks.
BB or CC you ask? There is no right answer to this question, It really depends on your skin condition during different seasons. I have a combination skin, and I use both BB & CC for different seasons. There are times when I pick CCs and then apply light makeup directly. I look pale yellow in a CC cream though. Just pick the right BB or CC that suits your skin type. I’d surely like to hear from you on What you prefer the most – BB or CCs for your skin type? I haven’t tried CC creams. My favorurite BB cream so far is Garnier. But I think I need to widen my horizon and try CC creams as well.
I’ve actually never used either! I’ve been wanting to try a bb for a while now. Great post xo

Nice post. I generally prefer full coverage so BB and CC creams aren’t for me.
I have used both BB and CC creams however I can’t really say which one I prefer more. I hate it when products clog the pores then cause breakouts, good that it doesn’t do that! x

Nice to know the distinction! Great post! 🙂

I have no particular choice between the two! There are times when I apply BB and there are times when I have to resort to CC. Its totally dependable!!

I use BB cream every day and love it!
I’ve only tried tinted moisturisers & BB creams before, which i tend to love as I like light coverage bases. I would be intrigued to try a CC cream next, you’ve made it sound like something I could get on well with x

I would go for a CC cream as it seems it has more benefits than the BB one. Using now a CC from Clarins, really impressive!
https://everydayfacts.wordpress.com
Thanks for this review! I’ve tried BB creams in the past, but they don’t offer enough coverage for me. I have acne-prone, sensitive skin, so I think a CC would work better. This product sounds like it has a lot of beneficial properties and is worth the investment.

Great review, girlie! I only knew that CC creams are great for color correction, which is what I’ve used it for, since I have some red flareups and blemishes. I, however, didn’t know that they’re best suitable for oily skin types, which is what I am; I definitely learned something new in this post, thank you 🙂 This products sounds great and the benefits sure to outweigh the negatives or cons!
I hope you have a wonderful day and week ahead, beauty!

Great review. I usually find BB and CC creams so light and with not so good coverage to wear them on its own, but I have Bobbi Brown CC cream that I use as a primer. It is a great way to use it.
Thanks for the review! Super informative and great photography! XO

Great post! I’ve always wondered what the difference was between a CC and a BB cream. It seemed like they were well on their way to the ZZ cream at the rate the beauty industry was going.

Nice review! I think I mostly used bb creams as well as tinted moisturizers! I don’t really need thick coverage so I actually like the lightweight ones!

I’m not into bb or cc creams but I think these are good option for everyday wear when you don’t want heavy make-up. I don’t know whether these cream do anything good for skin or not.
