DAY 1 – HIGHLIGHTS
The day 1 of Blenders Pride Bangalore Fashion Week 12th edition powered by Snapdeal.com saw a mix of upcoming talent and the veterans showcasing their collection. The opening show was an astounding performance by the budding designers from DREAM ZONE fashion school. The techniques used to create each collection by the students were remarkable.
Nasim Yalgar
One of the top finalists from Fashion guru 2014(Goa), enthralled the audience with her collection comprising shorts, dresses along with jumpsuits, sexy jackets and jazzy prints in trendy colours.
Arun Dhall
The collection MANTHAN , is the grand celebration of design under his label. Inspired by the mythological term Manthan, the collection symbolizes the elegant churn of elegance, beauty and grandeur of the Indian ethnic design with an edge of western touch. This indo-western collection is a mix of silks, georgettes, nets, embroidered and fancy fabrics adorned by intricate Dabka , Kundan ,zari and thread work.
Arshi Jamal
Born and brought up in the City of Nawabs, been a part of Bangalore Fashion Week, Kolkata Couture Week, Pune Fashion Week, Ahmadabad Fashion Week, Goa Couture Week among many others. His collection, AARZOO – FLIGHTS OF FANTASY, symbolizes the will to win, the desire to succeed, the urge to reach your full potential. As the name signifies, AARZOO is the designer’s Endeavour to recreate fantasy and bring it to the realms of reality. This collection showcases a vivid use of colors, exquisite detailing and the rich, traditional mélange of embroidery in both women and men’s attires.
Michelle Salins
A mix of the fifties & the seventies are back this Summer season through Michelle Salins show! Reworking a decade is not new to the Fashion industry & for 2015, the designer extracted a few silhouettes of these time periods to craft the latest collection.
Amping up the drama, are pleats & draped necklines adding the stylish dimension to the silhouettes remembering the styles of the Red Carpet of the 50s & 70s! The skirt suit & bra top definitely bring in the youthful look.
Rehane
Rehane has dressed some of the biggest and best names in show biz, from Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Shruti Hassan to Shilpa Shetty. Her collection for Spring/Summer 2015 came from a Vintage Kutch Blouse from an Obscure Village in Gujarat. The range sees the amalgamation of two diametrically opposite designed philosophies – rural ornamentations on Silhouette which are edgy, modern and fun. Her 2015 collection is designed for the beaches of Goa, Ibiza, Miami & L.A. and is all about colours and a cool summer vibe.
With her second store scheduled to open in Chennai housing men’s wear, women’s wear, prêt and costume, her collection is not only in India but all over the Middle East and America as well.
DAY 2 – HIGHLIGHTS
The day 2 of Blenders Pride Bangalore Fashion Week 12th edition powered by Snapdeal.com showcased the most diverse roster of designers from every corner of the country. The day started with DREAM ZONE fashion school Collections celebrating the people and places that will inspire the budding designers.
Anita & Nitin:
Graduates of Textile design from National Institute of Fashion Technology (Mumbai), Anita & Nitin represented a fusion of Indian tradition and modern designs. They took inspiration from spectacular tile designs of the Mughal era, as the collection is an amalgamation of tile prints and creative western silhouettes. The prints included beautiful floral, geometric and tessellation patterns with elegant silhouettes.
Ankur & Sonia
Ankur & Sonia launched their brand “Charas” as a clothing label in New Delhi , India in 2009. They have over 14 years of experience with eminent designer names.
Dedicated to design & exquisite contemporary wear, “Charas” is made for the discerning and stylish women. With the range, Ankur & Sonia sought to define a distinctive , cultural yet unique style statement that lends itself to Indian and Western experiences alike. They have presented their collections at Africa Fashion Week, New York, India Runway Week, Mercedez Benz Bedford Fashion Week, etc.
“Charas” connects you to the vintage world. The collections comprise of bold straight gowns in self created textured fabrics enhancing your body curves and superb confidence!
Archana Nallam:
Archana Nallam established her eponymous label, “NALLAMZ” in 2012. A self-taught designer, Archana’s design philosophy is distinctly feminine and refined. It renders to styles that are luxurious and yet understated. There is a strong emphasis on fabric, cut, and color. Her designs beautifully fulfill the sartorial needs of the contemporary Indian woman, whilst being mindful of her age and body-frame.
At Bangalore Fashion Week 2015 Archana Nallam was all set to present her alluring new collection called “Adyatana” which showcased designs that allow women to look and feel elegant and exquisite throughout the day.
Sonia Sri Bhattu
Sonia’s collection focuses on summer evening wear dresses that targets the Indian market. The characteristic traits of her collection are a simple and minimalistic style that is combined with classiness and elegance. Her collection represents innovative shapes and designs for a woman who has a strong personality and dares to be different, focusing on her feminine side and flattering her beauty. Indian film actress, singer, model, producer and a television host Lakshmi Manchu, walked the ramp for this upcoming designer.
Abhishek Dutta
Singer, Song writer composer Irina Saraiman enthralled the audience with her astounding performance at the Abhishek Dutta’s show. The collection is a plethora of textures and colours.
Pria Kataaria Puri
Pria Kataaria Puri’s chic collection, Haute Hippie, represents today’s glamorous and free spirited modern women. She is a passionate, adventurous, and independent woman and the world is her oyster. But her true essence lies in simplicity. The designer’s inspiration is a culmination of essence of women from different walks of life. The sensuousness of Marylyn Monroe, kindness of Mother Teresa, Elegance of Grace Kelly , Beauty of Maharani Gaytri Devi, oomph of Rihanna and the innocence of a child.
The assortment is inspired by Persian prints in vibrant hues of bright sunshine yellows, cherry reds, mandarin orange, soothing turquoise with neutral off-whites and black, perfect for the resort season. Sultry supermodel, International beauty queen and bollywood actress Ms. Urvashi Rautela walks as showstopper for designer Pria Kataaria Puri. Crowned Miss Universe India 2012, she made her Bollywood debut opposite Sunny Deol in “Singh Saab The Great “.
